Starting Over Isn’t Failure—It’s Strategy!
It’s okay to reboot, when a fresh start is the best strategy.
I've been updating my website lately, giving my online Gallery + Store a fresh look over the past couple of months. About a year ago, I took an online workshop called "A Sale A Day" to get better at running my print shop. They recommended I switch to Shopify, so I moved everything from Squarespace over.
At first, I was really pumped about the new setup, but after a few months, I noticed that my sales weren’t really picking up. I waited another year, hoping things would change, but they didn’t. So, I decided to close my Shopify store and go back to Squarespace. Since my website is already there, it just makes sense to keep everything in one spot instead of juggling two accounts.
I’ve realized that running a successful online store takes a ton of dedication, and that’s just not where I want to focus my energy. I’d much rather spend my time making books, painting, teaching classes, and sharing my stories and experiences with you all.
Social media makes it so easy to feel like we need to be doing ALL the things - creating masterpieces, posting constantly, building our brand... and making it all look effortless! I feel that pressure too sometimes. But here's what I keep reminding myself: what we see online is just the highlight reel, not the whole story.
If something's not working or just doesn't feel right? Let it go, guilt-free. Our art journey should feel authentic to us. 🧡
The revamped Gallery + Store keeps the same layout as my old Shopify store, but it’s way cleaner and simpler now. There are some new prints that you couldn’t get before! Plus, I’ve added a fresh Original Collection that has all the paintings I’ve shared with you before. You can also check out the original painting of that little bridge in this video - it's now available in the store!
Here are some cool highlights from the new Gallery + Store:
The Original Collection - Each piece is a handmade painting created with love, and I've kept the prices friendly because I truly believe everyone should be able to own special, original art.
The Painted Page Collection - Each piece is like a little love letter to literature - inspired by those stories that stay with you long after you've turned the last page. I wanted to capture that magical feeling when a book transports you somewhere wonderful, so you can keep a bit of that spark alive in your everyday space.
Animal Friends Collection - These pieces are my joyful tribute to the creatures that make our world more magical, whether they’re wild wonders or beloved pets. I wanted to capture that little spark of happiness you feel when you spot a favorite animal - so you can carry that warmth with you every day.
Fable + Fauna Collection - where brushstrokes hold whispers of wonder. These pieces are for anyone who’s ever wished their walls could spark a little enchantment, or make the ordinary feel quietly extraordinary!
Mizu Nostalgia Collection - Where anime, manga, and pop culture’s pulse meet the stroke of a brush.
Celestial Charms Collection – Each print weaves together celestial magic and legendary tales, transforming zodiac signs into timeless art.
Painted Wishes Collection - Where every brushstroke carries a heartfelt messages, silent conversations, tender moments frozen in color and texture
You might be wondering if my workshop with "A Sale A Day" was worth the investment, especially since I ended up moving away from the online platform they recommended. Even though I eventually moved away from the platform they recommended, the business and marketing insights I gained - especially as an artist - were invaluable. While my Shopify store didn’t pan out as I’d hoped, the knowledge I took from the workshop has been a game-changer for everything else I’m building.
I’d love for you to check out my new Gallery + Store! Whether you’re just browsing or looking for that perfect piece to bring a little joy into your space, I hope you find something you love.
🧡 Thanks for being here - it means the world! 🧡
