I am excited to announce that I have another book to release this year titled Love Like Chocolate by Tracy Banghart. This heartwarming and delicious story celebrates family, love, and inclusivity. It's a perfect book to read aloud during the holiday season that celebrates gratitude and togetherness.
As a family welcomes an adopted little girl to their home, her brother takes it upon himself to teach his new sister their traditions for good days and bad, for birthdays, holidays, and everything in between. Their family always celebrates with chocolate. They make super chewy chocolate chip cookies in the spring, very-berry chocolate-cherry mousse in the summer, chocolate banana pancakes in the fall, and warm chocolate sauce in the winter. But the boy soon realizes that his sister might have favorite treats of her own and that if they work together, they can create new traditions and memories together.
“Adoption is complex, nuanced, and deeply personal to each family and adopted child. Therefore, it’s particularly important to listen to adoptees and support resources that center them. To this end, I’ll be donating $1 for every November preorder of LOVE LIKE CHOCOLATE to the Adoptee Mentoring Society, an organization founded by Angela Tucker (author of You Should Be Grateful: Stories of Race, Identity, and Transracial Adoption), that provides virtual mentorship for adoptees BY adoptees. Additionally, if you preorder from One More Page Books, my local indie, you can get your copy signed and personalized. “
