Falling snow is one of my favorite themes to paint in winter! There’s something magical about watching snowflakes fall from the canvas. I know it sounds silly, but the last step of a snow painting always makes me smile… just like how I imagine the feeling of seeing the first snow of the year.

I love making handmade cards. Nothing beats a card made with love! But it can be challenging to whip up something fancy when the busy holiday season rolls around. So, I’ve come up with some simple and fun holiday card ideas that anyone can try! They’re also perfect for little collaborative projects with kids.

Idea 1: A Cute watercolor Christmas tree!

Everything looks so much cuter with a happy face! This card is about using big, simple brush strokes to create your own tree. Once you’ve got that down, feel free to get creative and make it your own! Have a blast decorating it with glitter, gold paint, or even some fun stickers!

Idea 2: Crayon snow magic!!

Crayons are my secret favorite art supplies! They’re just so much fun and super kid-friendly. When you mix crayons with watercolor, it’s like magic! This card-making idea is perfect for kids. They can draw whatever they want with crayons and use white to make snow. Once they’re done with their crayon masterpiece, they can grab a big watercolor brush to paint the background in their favorite color, and watch as the snow appears on the paper!

Using crayons and watercolors is one of my favorite activities with the little artists. I love seeing their eyes light up when the snow starts appearing on their drawings! You can even use the same technique to write a secret message on the card, too!
